Grunnet skjerpet grensekontroll mellom de skandinaviske landene, må alle våre reisende ha med seg pass, førerkort eller bankkort med bilde/signatur. Barn under 16 år som reiser sammen med foresatte er unntatt fra dette.
Du som reisende blir bedt om å legitimere deg av transportører ved ombordstigning på fly, tog, buss eller båt, eller ved innsjekking på overnattingssteder. Pass er eneste gyldig reise- og ID-dokument utstedt av norske myndigheter, og bekreftelse på norsk statsborgerskap.
På Stena Lines ruter mellom Sverige og Danmark, Sverige og Tyskland, Sverige og Polen må du legitimere deg med pass. Dette gjelder også når du reiser tilbake til Norge fra Danmark. Dette gjelder alle reisende, også barn.
Vi minner om at eneste gyldig legitimasjon i utlandet for norske statsborgere er pass.

INFORMATION ABOUT BORDER CONTROLS - ID CONTROLS
Due to stricter border control between the Scandinavian countries, all our travellers are required to bring a passport. Travellers may also present a driver’s license including picture and signature issued in the EU/EEA or a Norwegian debit card with picture and signature. Children under 18 years old must also provide ID. This applies to all passengers but children under 16 years travelling with parent/parents is excepted and can travel on their parents ID's.
All travelers may be asked to show ID when travelling by airplane, bus, boat, or during check-in at accommodations. Passport is the only approved travel- and ID-document issued by the Norwegian government, and confirmation of Norwegian citizenship.
On Stena Line’s routes to and from the continent
On the routes between Germany and Sweden, Poland and Sweden, passport with MRZ code, national identity card of EU Standard, containing MRZ code or chip, issued by an national authority within the EU/EEA or driver’s license issued in the EU/EEA is needed to be able to check-in and travel.
On the routes between Latvia and Sweden and Germany and Latvia passport or national identity card of EU Standard, containing MRZ code or chip, issued by an authority within the EU/EEA, is the only valid travel documents.
This applies to all passengers, including children.
On Stena Line's routes between the Nordic countries
On the routes between Denmark and Sweden and Denmark and Norway, the identification documents listed below are approved for check-in and travel for citizens within the EU/EEA. For travelers from outside the EU/EEA, passport is the only valid document, this also applies to children.
- A valid passport with MRZ code
- National identity card of EU Standard, containing MRZ code or chip, issued by a national authority within the EU/EEA
- Driver's license issued in the EU/EEA
This applies to all passengers but children under 16 years traveling with parent/parents is excepted and can travel on their parents ID:s.

Stena Line will only accept passports with regular validity, not passports with an extended validity.
