Travelling between Sweden, Germany, Poland and Latvia
Start your journey smoothly by bringing the right travel documents. To board the ferry, you’ll need:
- Your booking confirmation number
- A valid form of identification*
- If required, a visa or permission to travel

Remember, it’s your responsibility to have the correct documents for everyone in your booking including any infants who are travelling. Please make sure that the name on your booking matches the name on your ID. If you don’t have the right documents, you won’t be allowed to travel and you will be responsible for any costs incurred. Please note, expired IDs are not accepted.
*All passports must have an MRZ code. This is on the personal data page and usually consists of 1-3 lines of letters and digits.
Please bring your booking confirmation number and an official photo ID, such as:
• A European ID card
• A valid passport

IMPORTANT TRAVEL UPDATE
Entry/Exit System (EES)
The EU has launched a new border system for non-EU travellers. If you're entering the Schengen area (open border area of the EU) for a short stay*, you must now register biometric data (fingerprints and photo) at the border. These checks will replace the manual stamping of passports. Travellers should have their passport ready. Car passengers may be asked to step out of the vehicle during checks.
*A short stay is defined as up to 90 days within any 180-day period. You can check your remaining days using the EU short-stay calculator.

European Travel Authorisation (ETIAS)
ETIAS is a new digital travel authorisation for visa-free travellers, including UK citizens. Once launched (expected in 2026), it will be required before travelling to most EU countries for a short stay.
You don’t need to take any action yet. We’ll update you when ETIAS goes live.

Do I need to bring any documentation for my vehicle?
When travelling with a vehicle between Sweden, Poland and Latvia (including mobile homes, campervans and caravans), you must have a valid vehicle registration certificate. The original must be presented at check in. If you have a trailer, you must also present its original certificate.
